Doughnut, donut, you say tomato, I say tomahto Let’s call the whole thing off! But I didn’t write this to promote Esther Armstrongs new Album, this post is all about the World of the doughnut. But this might not be what most people think, you see a round ring-style donut is an American doughnut called that by the chain Dunkin’ Donuts who made it ubiquitous, but the round “filled” doughnut is what we are looking at today….
The World’s Top 10 Most Amazing Doughnuts
..
10 - Chocolate Cream
Everyone loves the classic chocolate filled doughnuts, but this has a slight twist in being gluten-free! Crispy outside and perfectly soft inside, they are the perfect way to start this list off. Full recipe and step by step making guide with images in the image link.
9 - Jam Doughnut
In the UK we call these Jam Doughnuts, and they are the classic kind, found all over the place and most probably one of the first things you will try and bake on your own. I have tried to make these and failed miserably, but I just has a recipe written down on a note pad from the TV, the good news is there is a full recipe and making guide in the image link.
8 - Bacon and Bourbon
Much like the Jam Doughnut above this one, I have no idea if anyone outside the UK knows about them, but I hope so. With a “subtly boozy” custard filling and caramelised salty-sweet, bacon bits over the top these are sure to make anyone an instant doughnut fan, and we can all have a go at making them with the full recipe and step by step making guide in the image link.
7 – Apple Crumb
With a savoury twist these cinnamon apple filled doughnuts are simple to make, and would go down rather nicely as an after tea snack. Full recipe and making guide to be found once again by clicking on the image above.
6 - Puff Pastry
This is a fantastic spin on the basic strawberry filled doughnut, with a puff pastry shell, whole fruit inside and a mouth-watering Lemon glaze to finish it off these sound like they could well be the best tasting thing on earth! Full recipe and step by step making guide with pictures to be found by clicking on the image, so get clicking and get making!

No doughnut post would be complete without a Oreo filled doughnut, and so here it is. There is also a nice recipe and making guide to be found by clicking on the image.

I am not the biggest fan of peanut butter, but I do know a lot of people are, so these doughnuts filled with a peanut better crème should go down rather nicely. The good news is there is a nice recipe and making guide to be found by clicking on the image.
3 - Cider Yeast
Some things make your mouth water without seeing them, but just saying what they are! These homemade yeasted apple cider doughnuts that are filled with a creamy cinnamon flavoured caramel sauce do exactly that. Full recipe and making guide in the image link.
